POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Parenting Resource Center, Inc. (PRC), a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through resources, services, and prevention education to promote healthy, safe lifestyles for families within communities. The Family Support Services Coordinator is responsible for the operation and administration of The Michael H. Seibel Family Visitation and Exchange Center, Partnering with Parents Program, Parents Forever Program, Personal Care Item Program, Diaper Program, and Clothes Closet Program. The Family Support Services Coordinator must create an open and honest working environment that inspires professionalism, creativity, and innovation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Recommends and implements discipline and corrective actions, including termination from employment. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

2. Creates a program that is a participant-focused culture. The ideal applicant would model relationship-building skills in all client-staff interactions and will foster a climate of innovation and resolves problems to ensure client safety and satisfaction.

3. Advocates for children and families by offering appropriate feedback and referrals.

4. Maintains completed documentation and updates client files.

5. Develops systems and programs, which encourage member and staff feedback for improving ways to serve clients. Creates a trauma informed environment within the programs. Must utilize best practices as stated by grant requirements and other requirements for each program.

6. Ensures proper implementation of procedures and rules. Monitors staff to comply with rules and regulations per grant requirements and other organizational requirements. Ensures compliance with financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

7. Provides annual written strategic plan to meet program goals and expansion of services at the Parenting Resource Center and within the community. Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.

8. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to the team members, ensuring a positive, and productive work environment.

9. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
in programs.

10. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.

11. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and represents the Parenting Resource Center through community participation.

12. Assists in the preparation of grant applications, proposals, and reports.

13. Coordinates use of facilities for program activities.

14. Provides a safe environment for all participants.

15. Assists in maintaining a clean facility.

16. Assists in the Parenting Resource Center fundraising activities and special events.

17. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

18. Communicates the mission, vision, and values of the Parenting Resource Center to everyone who comes in contact with the program and organization.

19. Have a flexible schedule. Be able to work evening/weekends when services are provided, if needed.

20. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification or licensure indicating:

1. Two year degree in a human services field and one year experience in program development, implementations, strategic planning and/or experience working with children and families.

2. Two year experience in providing parent education services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related Human Service degree.
  • One year of experience working with children and families.
  • Two year experience in providing parent education services.
  • Preferred but not required current LSW (Licensed Social Worker) or working towards completion of LSW.
  • Typical requirements within 60 days of hire include: completion of: CPR; First Aid; and AED certifications.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
  • the community.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. CPR, First Aid and AED certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire

2. Must pass a state criminal background check.

3. Must have a valid driver's license.

4. Complete all required trainings by Minnesota Licensing Division

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,680.00 - $47,840.00 per year
