PAY RANGE: $103,500.80 - $147,846.40 annual salary ($49.76 – $71.08/hr.)

The City of Austin is seeking a strategic and experienced Finance Director to lead the City’s financial operations with integrity, innovation, and a commitment to public service. This key leadership role oversees budgeting, financial planning, risk management, and fiscal reporting ensuring transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Leading financial planning, forecasting, and long-range fiscal strategy for the City.
- Overseeing investment management, budget coordination, and capital project funding.
- Preparing financial reports and data to support informed decision-making.
- Administering risk management programs.
- Directing payroll, accounts payable, and reconciliation of financial ledgers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or closely related field.
- Must be bondable.
- Five (5) years of experience in municipal accounting, finance, business or closely related field.
Desirable Qualifications
- Public Finance Officer Certification
