Empty Bowls November 21, 2025 | 6–7:30 PM| Riverland Community College Austin West Cafeteria No one should have to choose between going to college and going hungry. More than half of Riverland students struggle with food or housing insecurity (2025 Basic Needs Survey). It is hard to focus on assignments and grades when you are worried about your next meal or where you will sleep. Emergency grants and the Riverland Food Pantry provide essential supports that help students stay in school. Learn more at riverland.edu/emptybowls Empty Bowls is more than just a meal. It’s a way to make a difference. With each ticket, you’ll receive a handcrafted bowl as a reminder of those who face empty bowls every day. Plus, you’ll get a warm feeling knowing that you helped a Riverland student work towards a brighter economic future. This event includes: • choice of soup, bread, dessert, and beverage • choice of a beautiful handmade bowl made by Riverland Ceramic students to take home • brief program to learn more about basic needs insecurity at Riverland and in our community. Tickets: $30 and may be purchased online Proceeds will benefit the Student Success Initiative Fund, which provides support for the Riverland Food pantry and emergency grants.
