Job Summary
  • The Community Sales Coordinator reviews and responds to opportunities to bring awareness to the Austin Community. In addition to coordinating schedules and facilities for visitors to enjoy all our community has to offer and maintains client relationships for repeat business.
Essential Job Duties
  • Responds to business leads issued by Discover Austin, MN, hotel community, websites, repeat customers and direct inquiries by qualifying the business and its benefit to local attractions, venues and hospitality community.
  • Research history on new event opportunities for event space, tours, reunions and other ways to bring overnight and day visitors into Austin. Research includes contacting other facilities for data and searching the internet for past groups.
  • Develop and coordinate with various attractions, restaurants, event facilities to create customized proposals for clients to ensure needs are addressed and client is motivated to book.
  • Issue proposal, itineraries and other necessary paperwork.
  • Coordinate and lead site tours.
  • Assist in coordinating and lead initial planning sites.
  • Act as a liaison between attractions, staff, and clients by answering ongoing questions from client to present the very best the Austin has to offer.
  • Greets client when they arrive on-site and checks in to ensure visit is running smoothly.
  • Entertain clients as their schedules allows before, during or after event; this may require afterhours.
  • Follows up with clients after event to express gratitude and ensure satisfaction and attempt/trace to book future dates.
  • Respond to client complaints, try to negate any issues onsite and involve Director as needed.
  • Travel with Discover Austin, MN to tradeshows or other sales initiatives if requested; this may require overnight travel.
  • Participate in FAMS or client entertainment as requested by Discover Austin, MN; this may require afterhours work.
  • Maintain accurate revenue projections in all bookings for reports.
  • Assist in preparing Fiscal Year revenue forecast for budgeting by completing event profiles and updating revenue projections. Complete FY budgeting forms for business initiatives.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Attends industry related events (local and trade) as requested.
  • May perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
